John Brekelbaum is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, addictive patterns, and life challenges that can leave people feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Many of the individuals John works with are seeking greater understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors as they work toward meaningful change and improved well-being.

John believes people do better when they do not have to face life’s challenges alone. As a therapist, he is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences openly and honestly. His approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to the individual, recognizing that each person’s story and path to healing is unique.
John values a balance of insight and action in the therapy process. His work draws from several evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices. Together with clients, he works to increase awareness of patterns of thinking and behavior while developing practical tools and strategies that support lasting change.
John is passionate about walking alongside clients as they face difficult challenges, build resilience, and move toward a more grounded and fulfilling life.
